The Line Leader is the first line supervisor of production line workers. They are responsible for the routine communication of job assignments, training for specific product runs, and placement of Line Workers in assignments as required for the day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Primary responsibilities are:
- Verify components on work order to ensure correct number of components are available for production
- Ensure all employees abide by the safety regulations
- Responsible to keep line clean of any debris at all times
- Review work order for assembly instruction
- Assign work to Line Workers and that they comply with CEI policies and practices
- Train Line Workers on the procedure to assemble products per assigned role for the day
- Update production metrics on hourly production whiteboard
- Prepare paperwork for skid tickets, line checks, and quality checks
- Contact Indirect Labor Material Handler to bring additional components for production line as needed
- Instruct Material Handler (direct labor), Line Workers, and Porter to clean up production line when production is completed
- Ensure skid ticket information is accurate
- Conduct Line Clearance as per SOP
- Escalate production issues to Area Manager or Production Manager as needed
- Perform quality checks of the line
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required, Associates degree preferred
- Certifications: None
- 2-5 years experience in a lead or supervisory position in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of computers and programs contained with Microsoft Office, AS 400 experience preferred
- Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculation
- Ability to use a counting scale
- Able to participate in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others
- Demonstrate safe behavior and support department/plant Safety goals in a continuous improvement process
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends before and after schedule as needed
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
